Hi there! My name is Kellie! I write professionally under my initials, K.M. Rice, but I am also a freelance editor.

APA Editing

I provide APA editing for grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, clarity, and voice. I use the "tracked changes" feature in Microsoft Word so that when I send the paper back to you, you still have full control and can either accept or deny my suggestions.

What's my background?

I have Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from San Jose State University. While I am also a novelist and screenwriter, I have been working with students on their dissertations since 2017. While most of my learners are from Grand Canyon University, I am happy to work with learners from many universities.

What kind of feedback will you receive?

Other than the edits above, I also provide commentary as a "fresh set of eyes." If something is unclear, I will leave a comment for you indicating as such in the margins.

Rates

Having gone through grad school myself, I don't want to add to stress. As such, I keep my rates lower than most copy editors.

My rates are determined by the length of the paper and the required turnaround time (I charge more for tight turnaround times). Usually students send me their current draft so that I can estimate a base price. I don't count any grading rubrics or references in the page count. If you'd like to send me your current draft and your required turnaround time, I will send you what I would charge and you can decide if we're a good fit to work together.​​
